Looking for the app’s privacy policy? If you are a teacher using Advant Reading, or a district reviewing us, the policy that governs student data is the one inside the app — and that is the authoritative version.
This page covers advanteducation.com only — this marketing website, the free guide, and our email list. It does not describe how the apps handle student data, because restating that here would risk the two drifting apart. The app’s own policy is the single source of truth for anything to do with students.
Advant Education is an independent business building reading and math screening and intervention software for K–8 teachers.

These are the same two addresses used in the app’s privacy policy, and they are meant to stay that way. If they ever differ, the app’s policy is the correct one.

If you download a free guide or subscribe to our email list, we collect the name and email address you give us. That is handled by our email provider, Kit (formerly ConvertKit). You can unsubscribe from any email and we will delete your details on request.
Like every website, our host records standard server information — IP address, browser type, pages visited, and the time of the visit. Our site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages.
We use the Meta Pixel on this website — a small piece of code from Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram, that runs when you load a page here.
What it records. That a browser visited a particular page on this site, and, on the free guide page, that a guide was requested. We use that to measure whether our ads are working, to show ads to people who have visited this site, and to let Meta find people with similar interests.
What that means in practice. Meta receives your IP address, browser information, the page you were on, and a cookie identifier. If you have a Meta account, Meta can connect that visit to it. This is how advertising on Facebook and Instagram works generally, and we would rather describe it plainly than call it analytics.
The line we do not cross. The Meta Pixel exists only on this marketing website. It is not present in the Advant Reading Screener or any other Advant app, it never will be, and no student information of any kind reaches Meta. That boundary is deliberate and permanent.
You can control this tracking through your browser settings, an ad blocker, or your Meta ad preferences.
We do not sell or rent your email address. We do not upload customer lists to advertising platforms. We do not use the website to collect anything about students.
Everything about how Advant Reading handles student data — where it is stored, the optional backup sync, what is deliberately never collected, FERPA responsibilities, deletion, and breach notification — lives in the app’s own privacy policy.
We deliberately do not summarise it here. A summary that falls out of date is worse than no summary, and a district needs the exact text, not our paraphrase of it.

You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, or send you a copy. Email privacy@advanteducation.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the GDPR. We honour those requests regardless of where you are.

None of these has any access to student information. Providers used by the app are listed in the app’s policy.
Traffic to this website is encrypted with TLS. If a breach ever affects data we hold, we will tell you and the relevant authorities promptly, as the law requires.
Security of the app and of student data is covered in the app’s own policy.
If we change this policy in a way that affects how your data is handled, we will update the date at the top and email subscribers before the change takes effect. Minor wording fixes will just be dated.
